TALK IN OUR HOUSE LAST MONDAY :
College Princes : Why are you selling our house ?
HS Princess : That doesnt look like the right house for us.
HS Son : I like the house we live in.
DH : Why are you kids torturing your Mom ?
Me: Maybe I am buying the new house for ME... and your daddy....
CAN YOU BELIEVE I SAID THAT ????? In the 19 years that I have had kids I have never uttered the words: maybe I am doing
it for ME.... reminds me of Toby Keiths song.... every once in awhile... I wanna talk about me me me me me ! (CAPELLO)
Things have calmed down quite a bit since monday... and one of the reasons is that our new house has one of these

Huh?
Oh, right. New home.
So, yeah. That's more understandable. And good for you for making the change. I'm sure your teenagers will realize how great change is very soon!
And I'm really excited to see the new house!
Good for you, nothing wrong with finally beginning to think about your needs & wants over their's.....I'm slowly transitioning into this phase of my life too and it feels GOOD.
My son gave me grief too, yet the moment his feet carried him over the threshold he never mentioned the other house again, change is scary, but newness is often a delightful change! What a pool to jump into ! Wonderful!
And lets hear you sing the chourus again, home is where the heart is, and that you share willingly.
Oh I just LOVE it when parents really do the right thing...and actually choose for themselves above the kids. No offense to the kids but if you and hubby are a fabulous team...doing life for yourselves...the bitterness of an empty nest won't feel quite as harsh one day! And as an added bonus, the kids get a great view of what priorities should be. "The couple". So rock on sista! Go get that house for YOU two.
Well good for you! And hard to match a pool as a selling point! The kids will come around. Good luck with the move and settling in to the new place!

Hehehe! I'm so proud of you! Way to go on your response. I'll bet after the shock wore off, you felt pretty good for having said that. GO YOU!
And by the way, I LOVE your new house. The pictures are stunning.
