Bluebonnets

Its bluebonnet time in the hill country !! Soon we will have bluebonnets everywhere
especially along our highways. Our state's love for this flower is soooo big that we
have 5 different variations of the bluebonnet as our official state flower ! I share the states enthusiasm. Bluebonnets symbolize a change of season here ( season variation is rare in the south) and they remind us that summer is fast approaching. The bluebonnets will only be with us for a few weeks... oh how I WISH that this would last longer... but I am going to remember to embrace each day. A friend passed along these words to me :

Stretching

My interest in blogs began about a year ago. As I casually began exploring
on line journals, I was just amazed at the beauty of some , the rawness of others, and the
"realness" of many. In my blog journeys... I found bloggy sister-friends all over the world ! It was months before I dared to post a comment…but,eventually I was generous with my bloggy comments !

I knew I could never be a “real” sister-friend until I took the plunge and began my own blog…all the while wondering…. What the* double hockey sticks* (thanks berriehead) do I have to say ? I am still not sure what I have to say… but I DO know that I decided to blog because of my desire to STRETCH….
to stretch and find out what I have to say…
to stretch my circle of bloggy sister-friends,
to stretch my ability to string written words together ,
and to stretch my brain to think about new things in new ways .

So… I wonder bloggy sister-friends… what made you decide to take the plunge and blog ?

A post & a picture !

I am already thinking about summers on the sunporch...one of my favorite places to be... in the early morning to read the paper with dh....in the early evening to watch and listen as the sun sets and the 5 of us chatter away about the day.... or during the day when the house is quiet... to read that book.... or to perhaps fall asleep......... ah...summer is just around the corner !

Beginnings...

Its a beautiful* warm spring day in the hill country... change is all around... the sky is bright blue, the sun is shining ....our neighborhood is swarming with kids and bikes and
parents and spring clean up.... the trees have new leaves ,my adirondack chairs are out front, the flower pots have new flowers,...... AND THIS HILL COUNTRY MOM HAS A NEW BLOG !!!!!!
Any advice ? ???? and what is wallpaper ???? next.... I want to produce a post with a photo...... whoa baby....here we go....... wish me luck !
